March 19th - March 20th are the chosen days for what has become an annual ULKC expedition. Early Saturday morning we will leave for Killarney where on Lough Leane we will spend a day exploring from the water. We'll paddle our way to Bear Island where we will set up camp and enjoy the plentiful banter. Sunday morning we will pack our bags into our boats and paddle down the lake to finish at Ross Castle in the early afternoon.
Interested parties must supply the following as their own gear:
- Sleeping Bag
- Bivvy Bag
- Food
- Beer
- Banter
- Cooking gear
All kayaking gear can be club stuff! All the gear you bring you must be able to fit in your kayak, so if you can fit your tent; perfect, but if not some creativity with a bivvy bag or tarp might be necessary. Anyone interested should know themselves what they need to bring when going to stay on an island for a night in March.
Please sign up using the link below if you are DEFINITELY in so we can get this ball rolling!

I will be attending!
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

The club has 5 or 6 of them so we can give them out to whoever needs them.Shane_Desmond wrote:Any bivvy bags going?

If this means you plan on going to this trip can you fill out the sign up in my first post. All the club bivvy bags will be brought, it'll probably be first come first served for who gets them. As for cooking gear, I'll have a stove, few others will too, we can share so just bring some food and we'll sort you out.Dan wrote:I need a bivvy bag and cooking gear.

I have some suitable gear that I can lend, bivvy bag, cooking stuff, tarp, hammock. That kind of thing.
