These rules were done by two previous members of the kayak club, Mel Gorman and Daren Nestor, a few years ago. They're still valid today..

MEL AND DAREN’S 10 RULES OF BEER!
  1. Beware of little bald wizened smiling old men
  2. Beer *is* food
  3. Premium isn’t
  4. It is *ALWAYS* beer time
  5. It is always a good plan
  6. Beer is a credit card for pain
  7. Tomorrow is far away
  8. It’s not taste that counts, but side effects
  9. There is no such thing as “One”
  10. Beer will fix it (temporarily!)

I'd like to add, along the same lines at # 6.

Beer borrows happiness from tomorrow.
