Robbing Gavin's post from last year (I changed the date) but its the same story.Hey lads,
So this swim is going ahead again this year on Sunday September 18th. I haven't been told a time yet but we'll probably be needed for around 10am.
For those of you who don't know, Sean O Sullivan was a swimming coach who trained an awful lot of high performance swimmers and lifeguards in Clare and further afield before his death a few years ago. Every September his family organise a charity swim in the UL Activity Centre to commemorate him. We usually go to provide kayaking safety cover for the 2-300 swimmers that take part. It's completely voluntary but everyone who goes will be fed very very well afterwards and we usually get some sort of a goody bag each too. Should be back at the Boathouse that day at around 3pm.
I'd like as many volunteers as possible because this is for a very good cause but only sign up if you are certain you can go.
I was there last year, and there was an absolute mountain of food and sugary goodness there for us afterwards.
The club will be covering petrol costs.
Sign up below, including if you can drive. we have requested the use of the sprinter, but haven't got confirmation yet.
