I've a question... how strict is the "black-tie"ness of the event? Like, tuxs aren't the cheapest (Particularly for students, in semester 2)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner!
The easiest way to answer this question is to say please try your best to get a tux. Our alumni are tuxxing up for the most part and God everyone will look fabulous if they're all tuxxed up! There is a very sweet deal offered to us by Mike O' Connell menswear in Limerick City where you can get a good saving on a tux rental so if you want to fulfil your James Bond dreams of tuxxing it around Limerick for the night, you'll never be able to do it for cheaper!

In saying this, myself and the rest of the organisation committee are more than aware that, even with the discount, the tux and all associated trimmings of the night are not cheap at all.
So if funds are very tight, a classy black suit and dickie bow combo would be acceptable. We would have to ask though as a compromise to stay away from blue/grey suits etc. The reason being that there is more than current UL students going to be here. There are guests who have put a lot of work into the club, alumni who were in the club when all the club had was an empty bike shed to store their non existent gear, and many more in between, and they are all going to put in the extra effort to tux up, so we feel that our current UL students should make the equal extra effort to do the same, or wear a black suit and bowtie at the very least.

If anyone has any other questions about this or anything to do with the 40th, let me or any other of the organisation committee know - we are the pushy people with our forum signatures telling you to buy your ticket by the 29th!

So due to popular demand we have decided to extend the deadline to buy tickets for our 40th celebrations.

The new deadline is March 13th so that gives ye another 2 weeks to get your funds together and sign up for this incredible event! This will definitely be your LAST CHANCE to purchase your ticket.

Just as a reminder, tuxes are no longer mandatory but any alternative suit must be black or at least consist of black pants, dickie bow and a white shirt.

If you are renting a tux go in and get yourselves measured up as soon as possible!
Hope to see you all there!
