One and all!
What will you be doing over Easter weekend? on the 4th and 5th of April? You just keep reading and I will tell you what you should be doing!
You will be going on an adventure. Out to Lough Derg we will travel with our trusty kayaks in tow. Laden down with overnight gear we will paddle from Mountshannon out to a mystery Island. On this mystery Island we will pitch our camp for the night and enjoy the plentiful banter on offering!
Upon waking we will pack our camp and continue to paddle down the lake to finish in the lovely ole town of Killaloe!
We will begin the journey on a Saturday afternoon and finish on the Sunday afternoon.
Interested parties please must supply the following as their own gear:
- Sleeping Bag
- Bivvy bag (Tents are unnecessary and wont fit in a kayak)
- Food
- Beer
- Banter
- Coking gear
All kayaking gear can be club stuff! All the gear you bring you must be able to fit in your kayak. Anyone interested should know themselves what they need to bring when going to stay on an Island for a night in April.
Please sign up below if you are in so we can get this ball rolling!

I'm in! Can I bring my cat?
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

Just to let ya know Farrell there are White Tail Sea Eagles nesting on the island we stayed on the last time so the island is preserved and no one is to go on it from spring to late summer. But I think the other ones should be OK. There's a bird watching Hut in the harbour and the wildlife officer should be able to tell you where's good and where's not.
Ah right...hmm...Thanks for the update! Im sure we will find somewhere else! You gonna be around?MÃcheál Howard wrote:Just to let ya know Farrell there are White Tail Sea Eagles nesting on the island we stayed on the last time so the island is preserved and no one is to go on it from spring to late summer. If you can keep your head, when all about you are losing theirs, then you probably haven't fully understood the situation.
