So I was driving along and a plastic thing is after falling off the bottom of the car, I dont think it does anything it looks like a cover or something but i figured someone else might know more than me. If anyone would be free to have a look at it tomorrow I'd be very grateful...also I'll throw in a pint to whoever can solve the mystery of what this plastic thing does or can reattach it to the car

Thow up a picture! It's more than likely just the aerodynamic thing that covers the sump of the engine, I've seen that come off before.

Ye probably just the tray. No big deal.
I left my one from my old car in kilarney last year when it fell off. They are kind of a nusence when the car gets old as the screws always go missing or the threads are bolloxed most people screw them back on and use cable ties.

The car will not explode if it the tray...

It sounds like the under tray, it is reduce the amount of water that can spray in to the engine bay and also for aerodynamics
