Since there are loads of people buying kit on Jacks post, this might be of interest: https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/318472144863317/. Lots of second hand gear; some of it great value, some not so much.

Buying stuff second hand can be a bit of a mine field, if you see something of interest and have any questions ask here first. Some of the advice going around on facebook is totally arse about face, posts should have to be peer-reviewed before they go public...

I'm in tears of laughter.
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

You know it's true!

...and so does anyone who knows anything about anything. But unfortunatly beginners don't know that "Get a VE Paddles split shaft that way you can alter the angle as required and they are basically indestructible super light" isn't good advice for someone looking for a river running paddle. And that's just a highlight posted in the past hour! ...there's so much stupid in that one sentence that it's hard to comprehend it all. Anyone that doesn't realise that a split paddle is going to be both heavier and weaker than the non-split version should be banned from posting on the internet.
