Alps is coming up, semester is coming to a close but kayaking is still very much active. This challenge will be set up in order encouragement engagement in the club, help with organising river trips, seek new river skills, new rivers and becoming more educated in general with good river practise. Come September we'll be knee deep into a new semester with a whole bunch of new freshers to look after, so it would be great to get people more in the loop with planning river trips, learning skills and improving your own paddling.
Many hands make light work am I right?
Here are some rules;
- 1) Comment below saying when you've completed something. Get someone else to second it and you'll both get points. It can work as well if someone has helped you can get them points and they just have to second. It would be great for encouragement
- 2) This is completely different from the Phoenix strava challenge. Strava will be used to record some of the points so make sure you've liked ULKC on strava.
- 3) Everyone can organise a river trip and is encouraged to do so. Whether is outback, castle connell or further away. See below for the check list and river rules for safety
- 4) All the links can be edited by anyone. It would be a great help if you could help with the leaderboard, but don't worry if you can't
- 5) Prizes will be won.
- 6) Time frame; hoping to wrap this up before the alps so the big winner, winner can have the gear for the alps

I shall explain. We all love whitewater, we all love paddling. However, sometimes the stars just don't align. Sometimes you're not in the mental space to go paddling, someones the river is flowing too much and your safety team is borderline. Sometimes someone's had a big night and insisting on going paddling the next day.
This section is to applaud these times where it just sucks. You may have to get off the river. You make have to say to someone its not your day. You may have to accept yourself that it isn't your day. This is the hardest part about paddling. But its a very, very important part.
To acknowledge that the whole group wants to charge something, but something is telling you not to .
This is not to discourage paddling. This is not to scare people. This it to NOT discourage learning new skills, leaders are leaders because they know what it safe and what is not.
You can message me and explain this situation and It'll sick it up.
This is to help everyone fulfil their roles and realise that a club can't survive unless everyone helps a little.
