University of Limerick Kayak Club

The sign up for our trip to the exotic destination of Donegal is now up and waiting for you all to fill it out! If you haven't heard already this trip is taking place from 16th -23rd January 2016. We'll be kayaking some unreal rivers while we're there and lots of craic is guaranteed!

The trip will cost €150, but rest assured that it's money well spent! For this, you get your transport to and from Donegal, food while you're there, accommodation and as usual any club gear you may need
Due to demand for the trip, places are limited so sign up ASAP to ensure you're not left disappointed! Sign up will close on Thursday the 26th of November. After that we will announce those who were lucky enough to secure places and start taking deposits.

For anyone who has signed up, a €50 deposit for Donegal is due by Sunday the 6th of December. It would be ideal if ye could pay it by transfer to the club. Details for the account are below! Put the narrative as your name and 'Donegal' e.g. ( Daraghheff Donegal). If you don't pay the deposit by the specified date your spot on the trip will be given to someone else.

So the full cost of the trip is €155! This may seem like a lot but it covers everything including accommodation, transport, breakfast, lunch, dinner, quality river leaders who will ensure a great time on the river while also taking your paddling to a new level!! All gear is provided as well! All you need is some pocket money for drink and snacks. We will be paddling a wide variety of great rivers through some class scenery and with a hostel booked out just for us it's bound to be a crazy week of craic!! You won't get a better trip for this price. There's still some time to have a think about it so don't be too worried. Hope to see ye all there !!

fŭck that shit dude, send them a real polite message and tell them that there's this thing you really want to go to. Tell them your helping the club, needed for safety, etc etc etc, bullshit on, briefly. They should have no problem letting you delay your start date, most places don't give a shit about what Co op students do at the end of the day. You'll regret it if you don't try. I skipped an alps trip cos I wanted to make a good start on Co op and regretted it, definitely should have gone kayaking.

Sam, everyone kept telling me to put off my start date too so I could go to more of the Alps. I was sure it would look bad and in the end I rang them and asked to start one day later which got me all of week 1 because I thought asking for a week be too bad of a start. She said yes straight away and it was clearly not a problem which had me really disappointed I didn't ask for a week or two. I think Keyes is right when he says they don't really care and you should definitely try asking anyway.

SU won't give a shit. There will be nothing happening till the students get back anyway. When I was there they "didn't notice" that 1 guy went missing for 3 hours every day because he was working every lunch time in SCHOLARS (the SU staff all eat lunch in scholars), and that another guy never showed up on Fridays cos he was working in the castleoaks.
