Hey Derek, just letting you know that if you do not have your Level 3 certificate you are not allowed to go outback alone. It's in our safety statement just so you know.

I know you decide on the day to go, but if you gave even 2 or 3 hours notice about the outback sessions, people would probably go. Most people don't check this all throughout the day so if it isn't up in the morning then they won't see it until it's too late.

Also, you aren't on our official boathouse keys list so you shouldn't be opening up either. We have a keys list in security with 20 or so names on it. I know you have your own key but if you open up yourself and happen to go out alone and you get in trouble, there is no log according to security of anyone from the kayak club even having gone on the water so no alarm will be raised. Also if it so happens that the door doesn't lock correctly and opens up later( has happened a lot in the past) we get in a lot of trouble with Security and Buildings and Estates and the blame will be put on the last person who signed out the keys even if it wasn't them.

I know it's a lot of rules and regulations but they are there for a reason and that reason is to keep all of our people and all of our equipment and safe as possible.

No worries Gavin, rules are rules. I'll go out with someone on the key list in future once they post up a time.
