Im not commiting to anything yet but I may be interested in organising the Summer Camps this summer.

I have a few ideas that I wouldnt mind throwing around and seeing are they faesible and meeting the committee at some stage to make sure what im doing is in line with the best interests of the club. At this point is there any ideas that anyone has that can improve the summer camps or add to what we already run. I know ideas have been thrown around in the past and shot down but I would still like to look into them. I would also intend on playing hard ball with Liam so if the committee has any concerns with that please make them clear through here, or Gav, or directly to me as early as possible.

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME ABOUT INITIAL DATES YOU CAN OR CANNOT WORK AT THIS STAGE.

You'll have guys working with you on the bank, who aren't paddlers. Make sure they respect our gear. A few of them decided to start playing basketball with the helmets last year.

Have enough people on the boathouse key list.

Make sure all paddlers have cowtails or slings so they can tow boats.

We should try and make this the last year we do summer camps with Liam. We should try and arrange a proposal for the Sports Department to organise summer camps for next year

I don't have any concerns with playing hardball with Liam anyway. He's been threatening to find someone else for years and hasn't so get what you can from him. It would all go great in your capable hands but if you need a hand with anything just give me a shout
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

No one said no to us. We never asked the university. I spoke to Paul and he encouraged me to organize it but I just didn't have the time. If we did it we would be employed by the sports department. They would be running it. You need to prepare a proposal for Neasea O Donnell

Great. Thanks Kev.

It looks like a 6 hour day so about €8 an hour. Is this fair enough?

Appropriate in so many ways.

So just to keep everyone in the loop with what is going on...

Summer camps is running as usual from May 15th to June 26th. There may be a few other days but they are the main ones at the minute. This is the standard summer camps that we have always ran. There are still some spaces for people, especially during and pre alps so if anyone is interested join the Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/544685988981288/

As well as this I am trying to set up a Kayaking School where we take in people for a number of days, or for a few hours over several days and we certify them at the end of the course. This proposal is with Paul Lee at the minute so we are hoping to have a definite soon. Hopefully this would run for the entire summer and we would need people who are capable of instructing in order work at this.
