That was ULAC on Lough Derg before all last night's rain. Usually there's a marina about a foot above the water and 5 / 10 meters of path down to it.

Looks like the Glens isn't going to be runnable for a while but the waves on Castleconnell look fun!!

Boathouse is off limits. Security won't give us the keys.
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

Boathouse is off limits till Wednesday earliest
Dear All,

Please be advised that the Boathouse remains in lockdown. The access road is impassable from the Tierney Roundabout and ‘the services’ (sewage plant) road - as the floods are rising pumps are in place.
There is no threat to the stores areas – the concerns are within the boathouse itself in terms of the services ie toilets, showers etc and rising water through these facilities.

Building & Estates together with contractors are doing their utmost but the advice is the Boathouse and all access will remain closed until a review on Wednesday at lunchtime. There is no access permitted before this time.

Please ensure to advise all club members. UL Sport will keep you updated as things progress.

Regards
Neasa

They are going to keep the water at 440 cumecs until Wednesday at least and then gonna review it.

The Mulcair could be an interesting paddle at these water levels, if we could access our boats!

Well, there is now vehicular access to the Boathouse, as B&E have opened a new (old) entrance into the Tierney building carpark, and that then connects to the "Western Carpark" and the boathouse.

As for water levels at the moment, the river is about at the top of the ramp to the pontoon, and has dropped a few cm from earlier on, most likely due to the Mulcair dropping off.

I would expect that keyholder access to the BH be restored quickly enough.

So if we wend ahead and went to Schull this morning it could have all worked out.
