So was on the Glens today and went from a nice medium level to absolutely fricking huge in about 30 minutes it was only drizzling in the hours previous and during!
Can this all be accounted for by less trees in the area or is there something else happening because the river dynamic has changed substantially.
Our laps were good, a fair few severe beatings were had but somehow no swims.

Rain over the hills that wasn't falling in the Glen itself. Yep, the harvesting of the mature tree cover that had reached its full growth has definitely affected the rise and fall rate of the river. It's spiking a lot harder than it was 5-10 years ago.
