SO this week we will be bringing in some different types of boats into the pool sessions. At the moment the boat types we have in the pool are mostly freestyle, white water, and polo. With the odd sighting of a slalom boat.

Tonight and tomorrow, we will have a K1 kayak used for sprint/marathon kayaking; surf kayak ; slalom kayak ; squirt boat, used to "preform tricks" (Wikipedia!?) and it sits low in the water, very low!; a Canadian canoe; the duo and possibly a sea kayak. We will also have a set of "winged paddles" that are used in racing. The usual white water boats, freestyle boats and polo boats will be there too.

There will be people using the different type of boats through out the night, so if you want a break from practising your skills why not give a new boat type a go, Can you sit up right in a K1 the longest (they're kinda tippy)? or can you squirt in the squirt boat? :D

this is the squirt boat section in this years freestyle world championship, from about a minute shows actual squirt boating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HIk3sL-otk

We're meeting at the sprinter at 9pm to head to the boat house to collect the boats if anyone is around to give a hand.

It was great to see so many people giving the different boats brought up to the pool last night a go! :D SO tonight we're going to do it all over again!! The same boats will be available again tonight, so in the pool is a great opportunity to give them a go. If you think you do like them or want to give them another go, we can head outback with them later in the week and semester. Just throw up a post looking to go outback and there is more than likely someone else looking for an excuse to stop studying too.

To bring the boats up from the boathouse we are going to need a hand tonight again! The more hands we have the quicker it will be and then the quicker we can get boats onto the water in the pool. So whether you can give a hand at the boat house to load boats or at the pool to unload the sprinter any bit helps! :)

We'll be doing the same again tonight to get boats, meeting at the sprinter at 9pm to head to the boat house.
