More of a holiday then expedition and will be tits high until late august and spikes again in jan. Keep suggestions coming though
Hi everyone,
Ok so I will be finished my PhD then and would like to go to:
Chile, New Zealand or Canada. A trip across Europe would also be cool. I am scared shitless of any where with crocodiles. Hope fully by 2016 I won't be running retarded lines of Top Drop in Boluisce.
Regards,
Dan

Been thinking about this a lot and I know that we should try and nail down a group to go and then start a plan from there but I really don't think we can in our circumstances. A lot of people wont commit to something so far away and even if there is one shred of doubt in peoples minds whether they want to go or not, it could all collapse on itself. Not really sure where to go with it....
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

I think that its going to be very hard to get a group of people to commit to this, giving that its going to be pretty far in the future....But realistically I don't think its going to happen if we don't have a group of committed people. I think that the next thing to do would be to put the feelers out and get whoever is interested to meet together and try to figure out amongst themselves a place and an approx price....From there people need to make a decision. Without a definite decision its going to go nowhere fast.

I've been thinking about this.
Expeditions sound great but in reality are 99% hardship and are generally only fun once they are over, realistically you will paddle one river per week if you are lucky. Given the fact that no members have much real experience in this department I think we should be realistic while getting a bang for our buck paddling wise.
The answer for me is Nepal in the Himalayas at Christmas/January time. There is a ton of well documented multi-day river trips which will expose the club to the expedition side of kayaking. I have a lot of sources who have paddled in the region at this time of year and it is amazing.
Nepal in a year or even two? Who is game?
